Evaluating a source

The source that i evaluated was http://www.si.edu/ It is the smithsonian website. I believe that it will be useful for my paper because it seems as if it will be a credible website. First off it has edu as a domain which means education. that is usually a good sign. It has alot of credible sources fir it's information. Auctually it's a world renown encyclopedia, that should mean something. If it has any information on what i choose to do my report on than it will more than likely prove to be a good website to get information from. Every one of the links on it take you to another credible place also. They tend to be government or higher education credentials. That's why i believe that this will be a good place to go for information  for my report.

My interprettion of Nirvana's "come as you are"

the song come as you are is by the band nirvana.

The lyrics are as follows:

Come as you are, as you were
As I want you to be
As a friend, as a friend
As a known enemy
Take your time, hurry up
Choice is yours, don't be late
Take a rest as a friend
As an old

Memory, yeah x4

Come dowsed in mud, soaked in bleach
As I want you to be
As a trend, as a friend
As an old

Memory, yeah x4

And I swear that I don't have a gun
No, I don't have a gun, no, I don't have a gun

Memory, yeah x4
(No, I don't have a gun)

And I swear that I don't have a gun
No, I don't have a gun, no, I don't have a gun
No, I don't have a gun, no, I don't have a gun

Memory, yeah x4
I believe that the song means that you should always be yourself, not matter what others think about you. I think that it's saying that what other people think about you cant kill you, and that everybody tries to change how they appear to other people to the point that they come dangerously close to forgetting who they really are.

Social Media

Social media can differ from our reading because it isnt all good or all bad, like the reading makes it seem. Twitter is fun to do because it makes you feel like people care about what your doing, even though they really dont. Haha. Myspace isnt as popular as it used to be im guessing because no one even uses it anymore.  Facebook is checked before im or email by most people.

Twitter may be microblogging i am assuming and as the book said it is very discouraging for new users, but if they get past that initial few days and get some followers it becomes fun. However it isnt always about what you are doing or thinking about, lately there's a bunch of tagged posts on twitter and thats usually what you see in the news feed.

my evaluation of the blogs

1st blog:
Top 10 wierdest mascots:
I thought that this blog was hilarious and a little informative. i learned some wierd mascots, and they stuck in my brain because it was funny to me. I learned about a college in rhode Island that had a mascot called "scottie the nads." There is a college with a bananna slug as a mascot. I find that cool because he is listed as one of the top college mascots.

2nd Blog:
The Perfect Playlist:
i thought that this was more of an opinion but it may make a good playlist. It pretty much told me that if everyone picks 2 somgs on a roadtrip it would make the "perfect playlist." all in all though i enjoyed reading this one as well.
